The assessment of the impact of type 1 diabetes on brain health is at the center of multiple research efforts, which include a plethora of structural, functional and metabolic measurements at 3T and 7T. In addition, in collaboration with U. of Arizona, the CMRR has developed a tabletop 0.5T 19F relaxometer to measure pO2 in a tissue engineered graft (TEG) developed to cure type 1 diabetes.
