A number of projects at CMRR investigate structural, functional and chemical changes associated with aging and disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) and their treatments. Disease focus areas span Alzheimer, Parkinson, Huntington diseases, ALS, hereditary ataxias, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury and depression. These projects aim to understand pathophysiology of these diseases and to validate noninvasive MR biomarkers to monitor progression and treatment response.
